Birmingham City have failed to secure a deal for Wolves' Bright Enobakhare with personal terms once again proving to be a stumbling block.

The forward was in talks with Blues over a permanent deal yesterday and it appeared as though it would get over the line as he is way down the pecking order at Molineux.

However, it was then reported that the deal was off as the player and the Championship club couldn't come to an agreement over personal terms.

But, that position would change again late this evening, with Sky Sports claiming that a deal for Enobakhare was back on and even though time may be an issue, all parties were hopeful it would go through.

Yet, in one final twist, journalist Tim Spiers has appeared to confirm that the deal is now definitely off.

"Now hearing the Bright Enobakhare to Blues deal is off again. Personal terms couldn't be agreed."

That will leave Pep Clotet short on options in the final third after Alvaro Gimenez left for Cadiz. It means that Scott Hogan and Lukas Jutkiewicz are the only senior forwards at the club.

The verdict

This has been a real saga and it's a shame for all parties that a deal could not be agreed.

Firstly, from the players perspective, he should have been desperate to join Blues as it seemed like a great move for him to play regularly and get his career back on track.

Then, with Blues desperate for new options in the final third, he would have given Clotet more depth up front and he has the potential to be a star at this level.

But, it's not to be and it's sure to have frustrated both clubs that this couldn't get over the line.
