Late failed Celtic move for Football League star revealed

The transfer window has been shut nearly a week now but we’re still getting a few little stories coming out of it even now.

It was a very frantic end to the market in the Football League as plenty of clubs left their business late in order to try and get the best deals they possibly could.

Meanwhile up in Scotland, Celtic were forced into going for a new goalkeeper with Craig Gordon getting injured and they duly snapped up Scott Bain from Dundee.

However, it could have perhaps been different as, according to Sky Sports, the Bhoys made an enquiry into signing Oxford United goalkeeper Simon Eastwood on Deadline Day.

Ultimately, of course, that failed but with Bain only on loan until the end of the season it remains to be seen exactly whether something could happen in the summer with Eastwood.

He’s played well this season for the League One outfit with him recording nine clean sheets in 32 games so far for the U’s this season.

And, if he keeps such form up for the rest of the campaign, Celtic and potentially others might decide to try and swoop for him in the next window.
