Derby County manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that the club are interested in signing Peterborough striker Jack Marriott.

Speaking to Derbyshire Live and reported by the Bristol Post, Lampard responded to the big update from Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony, who had confirmed that the club had rejected three bids from Derby already for their star striker, who was League One top scorer last term.

And Lampard refused to be drawn into further comment, but did acknowledge that MacAnthony 'had said everything you need to know' in relation to Marriott, while commenting that he did think the striker was a good player and everyone will know about him from last season.

Lampard added there was no movement any further on what the Posh chairman had already said in regards to Marriott, and that he would simply 'see where we go' in regards to the deal.

Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard is looking to add some finishing touches to his squad in the coming weeks as he looks to lead the Rams to success in his first managerial role.

Derby comfortably dispatched Premier League Southampton yesterday at Pride Park as optimism in the Midlands continues to build, with rivals Nottingham Forest also splashing big money in the market thus far this summer.

Rams fans, what do you make of Lampards comments? Would you like to see Marriott signed? Let us know!
