Ipswich Town boss Paul Lambert has revealed that Freddie Sears will miss tomorrow's game with Charlton Athletic in Sky Bet League One thanks to a hamstring injury.

This is a big game in terms of the play-off race this season, you feel.

Charlton were on a fabulous run before the international break but have not won in their last two away games, with another trip on the road ahead of them this Saturday.

Ipswich, meanwhile, have also shown good form this season overall but more recent results have not gone their way with two losses in the last three - including defeat against another promotion rival in Hull earlier this week.

It's a big game for both, then, but Town will have to cope without Sears and, indeed, Teddy Bishop, who is also set for a period on the sidelines.

Lambert confirmed via the club's official Twitter:

The Verdict

Lambert will hope his squad can cope without the pair as we head into another weekend of football.

The matches are coming thick and fast and, perhaps unsurprisingly, so are the injuries with several sides hit with issues at the moment.

Ipswich and Charlton are both contenders for promotion this season, though, and so will need to get a result here regardless of who makes the starting XI.
