Sheffield United boss, Chris Wilder caused a stir with his comments on Leeds United in an interview following their promotion to the Premier League.

Wilder branded Leeds 'muppets', which certainly didn't go down well with the Elland Road faithful.

Speaking in an interview with The Sun (quotes sourced from the Yorkshire Evening Post), Wilder spoke out following his previous comments and blamed it on the consumption of alcohol.

"Emotions were high and we’d had a couple of drinks but that’s how it is and that’s how I am.

"I’m old school and when people open their mouth and say things they’ve got to expect stuff to come back.

"But it’s nothing personal. Leeds are an outstanding team and I wouldn’t bet against them coming up in the play-offs."

It's safe to say that Leeds fans weren't best pleased with Wilder's latest comments though.
