It’s been something of a slow news day in League Two, but once again what little movement there has been seeming to revolve around Plymouth Argyle.
They dominated the stories yesterday and they’re doing the same today, which is why we start our round-up at Home Park.
West Brom’s 22-year-old stopper Palmer has joined the Pilgrims on a season-long loan, as reported by the Baggies official site.
He’s no stranger to League Two, having previously been with both Notts County and Oldham on emergency loan deals. He only appeared once for each during short stays.
He’s a former England Under 16 international who also counts Kidderminster Harriers as a former loan side.
Letheren left Plymouth at the end of last season having made 13 appearances throughout the season and he’s bagged a move to League Two as well.
He’s signed a one-year deal with recently promoted Salford City. He seemed delighted to hook up with the Ammies, commenting; “The club are on an upwards spiral like everybody knows, and I think Salford’s on everybody’s lips at the minute.”
Onto Stevenage now, another side who were in the news yesterday after taking Jon Obika on trial.
They’re farming one out on loan this time, with striker Joe White joining Biggleswade Town on a season-long loan deal.
The 20-year-old scored 20 times in 29 outings for the same side last season and will once again taste senior football this campaign.
Young spent last season at Farnborough, impressing enough to earn a trial with Colchester United, but Football Insider reports they could be set to lose out in the hunt for his signature.
After catching the eye with ten goals and seven assists last season, he had emerged as a potential new signing for John McGreal’s side.
However, they now look set to lose out with Championship outfit Barnsley reported to be preparing a two-year deal for the 20-year-old winger.
