On the day when the new season became something real, filled with fixtures to get excited about, there was plenty of transfer gossip and action going on as well.

Forest Green Rovers have suffered a high-profile loss today, but it's the prospect of another departure for them where we begin our round-up of the latest moves and rumours.

Reuben Reid

The former Exeter and Plymouth striker is currently plying his trade with Forest Green, but he's being linked with a move to Cheltenham Town, their local rivals.

The 30-year-old was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season, despite having a year of his current deal left to run.

He's now tipped by the Gloucestershire Post to join former Forest Green teammate Tahvon Campbell at Whaddon Road.

Reece Brown

The high-profile departure from Forest Green is midfielder Reece Brown.

The former Birmingham trainee turned in an impressive campaign, with 11 goals and 11 assists as his side made a bid for League One promotion.

They failed and the Leeds United target has taken his chance to step up without them, signing for Huddersfield Town, with Gloucestershire Live reporting a 'six-figure' sum has been agreed between the two parties.

Joel Grant

Jamaican international Joel Grant has penned a new deal with Plymouth Argyle, following their relegation to League Two.

He missed the second half of last season through injury and could only watch on from the sidelines as his team were relegated.

The 31-year-old has previously had spells with Devon rivals Exeter City, as well as Watford, Aldershot, Crewe, Wycombe and Yeovil.

Jerry Yates

Swindon Town have announced the signing of 22-year-old Jerry Yates on a season-long loan from League One side Rotherham United.

Yates spent a portion of last season in the same division with Carlisle United, scoring seven times in 29 outings.

Jack Bridge

Carlisle United have made an announcement of their own, confirming they've signed former Northampton man Jack Bridge.

The 23-year-old has penned a one-year deal at Brunton Park following his release from the Cobblers.

He scored twice last season, both against Carlisle, and chipped in with five assists in 28 League Two matches.
