There is little under a month left until the big kick-off and teams are frantically trying to add to their ranks.

The last thing fans want to see at this point is players leaving though, especially a key figure from their first team. That's the possibility facing one of our League Two sides, which is where we begin our round-up.

George Dobson

The Walsall captain is being heavily linked with a move to League One promotion hopefuls Sunderland.

The Northern Echo have reported that they're closing in on a move for the former West Ham man, who skippered the Saddlers last season despite his tender years.

He's also previously enjoyed a loan spell with Sparta Rotterdam.

Noah Smerdon

19-year-old Smerdon has joined play-off hopefuls Exeter City from non-league side Gloucester on a two-year deal, as revealed by Gloucester Live.

He's been brought to the club by virtue of the supporter's 'Exeter 1931 Fund', which comprises of 60 fans donating £19 per month towards the cost of a player.

He began his career with West Brom and has expressed his delight at joining the Grecians; "I'm delighted to have joined Exeter City, I know about the history of the club and the players that have come through here. It's a really good opportunity."

Crewe Alexandra

Crewe have already made some tough decisions on their trial players, releasing two and keeping another two with the club for now, as reported by their official website.

They've allowed Charlie Fox and Lassana Mendes to leave the club, while Christian Mbulu and Paul Taylor will get another chance.

David Artell's side face Liverpool under 23s tomorrow and non-league Altrincham at the weekend.

Dion Donohue

Mansfield Town are closing in on a deal to take former Portsmouth man Dion Donohue to Field Mill.

The Welsh midfielder was released at the end of last season, but the Sun's Alan Nixon believes he's close to finding a new club swiftly.

He's familiar with the area, having initially left near-neighbours Chesterfield when moving to Fratton Park in 2017.
