There has been plenty of transfer action in League Two today, with the big news coming out of Field Mill.
Mansfield flew their new signing out to Portugal to pen a new deal, which is where we start our round-up of the action.
Mansfield Town have unveiled striker Nicky Maynard after he left Bury, as reported by their official site.
Maynard grabbed 20 goals last season as the Shakers earned a promotion, but he’s part of a mass exodus brought about by their financial woes.
He was flown out to Portugal to sign the contract and filmed being picked up at the airport by CEO Carolyn Radford.
Colchester have signed 17-year-old defender Matthew Weaire from Brighton after his release by the Premier League side.
He pens a two-year deal with John McGreal’s promotion hopefuls, who only missed out on a top seven spot on the final day of last season.
Weaire is a Danish youth international who made 21 appearances for the Seagulls Under 18 side.
Stevenage have completed the capture of former Ipswich Town defender Paul Digby, as reported by the Comet.
The 24-year-old joins for an undisclosed fee from Forest Green Rovers. He only had a single season at the New Lawn, having joined them last summer from Mansfield Town.
He’s the second capture of the day for Stevenage as they’ve also signed Charlie Carter from Chesterfield.
Morecambe have pulled off something of a coup by capturing former Blackpool wide man John O’Sullivan, as reported by the Blackpool Gazette.
The Shrimps have secured a two-year deal for the 25-year-old, who made 22 appearances last season for the Seasiders.
“It’s a big signing for us,” said manager Jim Bentley. “He’s a good age, he’s got good experience, he’s been playing at a higher level and he wants to play games and be successful.
