The pre-season reshuffling is underway for a number of clubs, with money already being exchanged, free agents turning up at new clubs and fans already unduly excited for the coming season.

We're barely into June and one League One club has already broken its transfer record, whilst another is eyeing non-league talent as a route to League One success.

We round up the done deals and the latest transfer rumours over the last couple of days in the third tier...

Mo Eisa

Peterborough United' capture of Mo Eisa is perhaps the most eyebrow-raising transfer of the close season so far, as reported by the BBC.

Darragh MacAnthony announced the signing of Bristol City's forward for a 'club-record' sum, just one year after he left Cheltenham for a fee thought to be £1m.

The Khartoum-born striker made only five appearances for the Robins, but bagged 23 goals for Cheltenham the season prior after joining from non-league Greenwich Borough.

Stewart Downing

Sunderland are thought to have joined the hunt for Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing, as reported by the Teesside Gazette.

The 34-year-old former England and Liverpool winger is available on a free transfer and would suit the left side of the Black Cats 4-2-3-1 formation.

They face some stiff competition though, with Balckburn and SPFL giants Rangers also in the hunt.

Mark Little

Bristol Rovers have made a statement of intent by picking up Bolton Wanderers right back Mark Little on a free transfer, as reported by the BBC.

The 30-year-old has previously been promoted out of League One twice, with Peterborough and Bristol City.

He also counts Wolves, Northampton and Chesterfield amongst his former employers.

Alejandro Rodriguez Gorrin

League One promotion hopefuls Portsmouth are set to do battle with recently-relegated Ipswich for Motherwell's ball-winning midfielder Alejandro Rodriguez Gorrin, as reported by Football Insider.
The 25-year-old is out of contract at Fir Park and set to leave on a free transfer. He began his career with Sunderland, but has impressed during his time in the SPFL and looks set to try his luck once more in the English game.

Lamine Kone

One player leaving League One is Lamine Kone, the Sunderland defender sealing a permanent switch to Strasbourg as revealed by their club website.

Kone spent last season on loan in France and hasn't made an appearance in the third-tier for the Black Cats.

He did appear as they were relegated from the Championship, but now looks forward to a new life in Ligue 1.

Paul Downing

Paul Downing is available on a free transfer after being released by Blackburn and he's interesting two of the beaten League One play-off sides.

Doncaster and Portsmouth were losing semi-finalists this season, but will hope to go one better next campaign. Downing spent the second part of the season on loan with Rovers, but as reported by the Lancashire Telegraph they now face a fight to entice him back to the Keepmoat.

Kenny Jackett is also thought to be in the hunt as he rebuilds his Pompey side for a third tilt at the top six.

Daniel Udoh

Shrewsbury Town have begun their preparations for next season by raiding near neighbours Telford United for Daniel Udoh, as reported by the Shropshire Star.

Udoh netted 26 goals for the Bucks last season and told local press he was 'buzzing' to have signed for the Shrews.

Manager Sam Ricketts has admitted he may hunt the non-league scene for more new recruits over the summer months.
