By the end of play today, clubs in League One and Two will know not only who they play all season, but also who their first cup opponents will be.

It's set to be an exciting weekend as fans plan their away trips and begin to picture what the 2019/20 season brings for them.

For Sunderland, it brings a tough start that sees them face off against Pompey and Ipswich early doors, two matches featuring favourites for promotion.

They're going to go into those matches having missed out on yet another target, which is where we start our round-up of today's transfer news.

Jon Taylor

Sunderland target Jon Taylor has ruled out a move to the Stadium of Light, confirming he intends to make a Championship switch.

The Northern Echo report that the 26-year-old is keen to remain in the second tier when his contract expires at the end of the month.

That means disappointment for the Black Cats, who also face an uphill battle to capture striker John Marquis amid Championship interest.

Bartosz Bialkowski

Ipswich Town goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski looks set for a move to Millwall ahead of the League One campaign, as reported by the East Anglian Daily Times.

Bialkowski is a Poland international boasting 178 appearances for the Tractor Boys. He began his career with Górnik Zabrze before a move to Southampton, where he made 22 league appearances in seven seasons.

Jamie Devitt

The former Carlisle man has turned down a new deal at Brunton Park, instead opting to step up to League One with Blackpool.

The 28-year-old scored 12 goals for the Cumbrians last season, but was only offered a one-year deal to remain with the club.

Blackpool have handed him a two-year deal, with the option of a third once that is complete.

Ched Evans

Football Insider has reported that Portsmouth are hoping to sign Sheffield United striker Ched Evans after his outstanding form for Fleetwood last season.

The Welsh striker bagged 17 times in League One last season whilst on a loan spell with Joey Barton's side. He currently has 12 months left to run on his Blades contract.

Ben Sheaf

Doncaster Rovers are hoping to sign Ben Sheaf on loan from Premier League giants Arsenal, as reported by Football Insider.

Sheaf, a holding midfielder, has England under 16 and under 18 experience, as well as a ten game loan spell with Stevenage under his belt.

It's believed ambitious Rovers are aiming to tie up a season-long loan deal for the 21-year-old.
