The new season is well and truly underway, with some clubs already feeling the need to bolster their ranks.

Paul Scally, chairman of Gillingham, was joined by manager Steve Evans in the stands this weekend as they drew 1-1 at Doncaster and that's where we'll start our round-up today.

Gillingham

Steve Evans has claimed he needs three new players this week after watching his side draw 1-1 with Doncaster.

Evans, serving a three-match ban incurred whilst in charge of Peterborough, sat with Paul Scally for the encounter at the Keepmoat and admitted he's chewed the chairman's ear off throughout the game.

"I certainly expect to see one," he told Kent Online. "Hopefully we'll have two or three. I sat with the chairman during parts of the game on Saturday and I think I have done his left ear in. That has been shot to bits."

Anthony Evans

Portsmouth are one of the teams thought to be in the hunt for Everton striker Anthony Evans, as reported by the Portsmouth News.

He's also being linked with loan moves to the Championship, with Brentford, Wigan and Blackburn thought to be in the hunt.

The 20-year-old played once for Everton Under 21s in the EFL Trophy last season, ending the campaign on loan at Blackpool.

Oxford United

Oxford boss Karl Robinson is hoping to add a striker to his ranks soon, as reported by the Oxford Mail.

The U's held Sunderland to a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light this weekend, but former Charlton boss Robinson is keen to add to his ranks for the coming matches.

“I was told by Tiger (U’s owner Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth) that the agent said it could probably happen this week," he said.

“We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.”

Luke McGee

Kenny Jackett has admitted that keeper Luke McGee is attracting interest, as reported by the Portsmouth News.

The 23-year-old has fallen behind Alex Bass and Craig MacGillivray this season and wants first team football.

Jackett confirmed there have been suitors, but none than appeal to the former Spurs keeper.

"There has been interest in Luke but I don’t think there's the right move for him so far," said the Pompey boss.

"Luke is a good goalkeeper and he will be looking for a No1 spot. The right No1 spot hasn't quite come up yet and we understand that."
