As we move towards the end of the week, several clubs in League One are still involving themselves in transfer dealings.

We begin our round-up at Sunderland, where a defender’s move to Shrewsbury Town certainly won’t be mourned by many of their supporters.

Donald Love

The former Manchester United man is on the verge of joining League One rivals Shrewsbury on a free transfer, as reported by the Sunderland Echo.

Love only made four appearances for Jack Ross’ side last season, all coming before September 2nd.

He’s got a year left of his current contract but will be allowed to move to the New Meadow on a free transfer.

Luke Garbutt

Ipswich Town are close to securing the services of Everton left back Luke Garbutt, as reported by the East Anglian Daily Times.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan with Karl Robinson’s Oxford United, playing in defence and later on the left wing.

It’s believed he’s poised to sign a season-long loan deal with the Tractor Boys.

Ched Evans

Oxford United are eyeing a move for Sheffield United striker Ched Evans, as reported by the Witney Gazette.

Evans spent last season on loan with Fleetwood, where he bagged 17 goals in 39 outings.

He began his career with Manchester City and enjoyed the most prolific spell of his career in league One with the Blades back in 2011/12.

Jamal Lowe

Portsmouth have rejected two further bids for alleged Millwall target Jamal Lowe, as reported by News Shopper.

It’s known the Lions put in a £1.5m bid for the former Hemel Hampstead man earlier in the summer, but Kenny Jackett appears to be holding out for something closer to £3m.

Lowe was back in action last night, bagging as Pompey hammered UCD of Ireland 11-0.
