It's a sweltering day across the country, but in the EFL the heat is being turned up as the season looms ever-closer.

Several clubs are still without players in key positions with ten days to go until the start of the season. We'll start our round-up with a team who have signed a player they're not even sure they need.

Alex Bradley

Lincoln City have made former West Brom trainee Alex Bradley their third signing of the summer.

He recently turned down a contract with Burton Albion and has caught manager Danny Cowley's eye during a summer trial.

"It wasn’t a position we were particularly looking to add to," Cowley told the club's official site.

"But he’s come in and really affected us. The plan is to try and create a pathway like we do with all of our young players, because in the future he could do very well for us."

Marc McNulty

Sunderland have confirmed the signing of Marc McNulty, who joins on loan from Reading FC.

His move to Reading didn't work out last summer, but a loan spell with Hibernian proved fruitful as he bagged eight goals in 17 matches.

He now looks like piling the pressure on Charlie Wyke and Will Grigg, two players who didn't impress last season.

Robert Sanchez

Rochdale face Coventry

Rochdale have taken 21-year-old keeper Robert Sanchez on loan from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion, as reported by the BBC.

He made 17 appearances on loan with Forest Green Rovers in League One last season and arrives at Spotland as understudy to Josh Lillis.

Marcus Browne

The West Ham man has sparked hopes he might be set for a return to the Kassam after being spotted in the crowd during their 1-1 draw with Fulham last night.

Karl Robinson has admitted he'd love to sign the winger permanently, as would his chairman.

“I’d love him, there’s no getting away from the fact that if he’s available, we’ll pay money for him," he told the Oxford Mail. “The chairman has openly said to me ‘whatever it costs, we’ll buy him’."
