There has been plenty to keep us occupied in League One this afternoon, with a player changing hands for relatively big money with the season already started.

We begin our round-up of the day's action at Coventry, where a new striker will be making himself comfortable this week.

Matt Godden

Coventry have signed forward Matt Godden for a fee thought to be around £750,000, as reported by the Peterborough Telegraph.

Godden scored 18 goals for Posh last season but wanted first team football at London Road. The arrival of Mo Eisa to complement Ivan Toney made that unlikely.

The forward began his career with Scunthorpe, spending several seasons out of the Football league before making his name with Stevenage.

Sam Field

League One side Shrewsbury are one of several clubs thought to be keen on taking West Brom midfielder Sam Field on loan.

Field has started 22 times for the Baggies but looks set to leave the Hawthorns on a temporary deal this season.

Sam Ricketts saw his side earn a credible win against Portsmouth this weekend and surely sees the exciting youngster as the right man to add some energy to the midfield for Salop.

Conor O’Malley

Peterborough United have transfer-listed keeper Conor O’Malley after he was left out of the first team squad for their defeat against Fleetwood Town, as reported by Peterborough Today.

New signing Christy Pym started the game, but Aaron Chapman got the nod on the bench. Chapman is also on the transfer-list at London Road, but is now joined by the former St Pat's stopper O'Malley.

O'Malley has made 23 league starts for Posh since his move, the last of which came as they lost 2-1 to Coventry in March.

Ched Evans

Sheffield United striker Ched Evans has moved closer to a loan spell with Fleetwood Town, watching their development squad in action this afternoon.

The Blackpool Gazette report that Evans, who played for Joey Barton's side last season, was spotted at the Cod Army's Poolfoot Farm training base as a move nears completion.

He had been linked with a move to Oxford United, but that now appears to be unlikely as Karl Robinson is once again set to miss out on a target.
