West Brom centre-back Kyle Bartley believes the team have shown they are potential champions with the way they have won recently.
A tough end to December and a poor January saw Albion’s comfortable lead at the top of the Championship significantly cut, with the pressure starting to build.
However, they have responded in style this month, beating Luton at home before winning away at Millwall and then Reading.
The two victories on the road were particularly impressive, with Albion showing real grit to come through in tough conditions at The Den before recovering from a goal down at the Madejski Stadium.
And, speaking to the Express & Star, Bartley explained how that has given everyone a boost and convinced him they can end up top of the pile.
“I think if you look back to the start of the season, that resilience and that will to win was getting us through a lot of games. We showed that again at Reading and Millwall. And I think that’s the sign of champions.”
Slaven Bilic’s men face another tough test tomorrow though when they welcome Nottingham Forest to The Hawthorns.
QUIZ: Can you name the season in which these 14 West Brom images were taken?
This is an indication of just how confident the Baggies dressing room is right now and they are right to feel that way because they hold a healthy lead at the top and have been performing well.
Also, the performances in the last two games have been superb. Albion dominated large spells of both games and there was no signs of the poor form from weeks ago.
Now, the challenge is to build on that moving forward – starting tomorrow in what is a massive fixture at the top of the Championship.
