Not even the most of optimistic of Aston Villa supporters would have predicted that they would find themselves occupying a play-off spot after such a disappointing start to the season.

But Villa have turned it around in recent weeks, and are the form side in the Championship, with just eight league games remaining.

Two men that have been crucial to their recent turnaround are Kortney Hause and Tyrone Mings who both arrived on loan in the January transfer window.

Hause has ripped into Mings over his eating habits though, in a hilarious post on his Instagram story on Tuesday morning as they prepare for their game against Blackburn this weekend.

Both Mings and Hause have turned the club's form around, and they will be key to any late promotion charge that Dean Smith's side will make.

The Villans are currently sat 6th in the Championship table, and will be keen to retain their place in the top six as the season heads towards a conclusion.

The pair arrived on loan until the end of the season, but after such a successful spell with the club so far, Dean Smith will surely be tempted to make a permanent bid for them in the summer.

If Aston Villa can continue this impressive run of form, then they could well find themselves back in the Premier League next season, which certainly is a possibility given that Smith's key men are hitting for at the perfect time in the season.

The Verdict:

The feel-good factor at Aston Villa is definitely back.

Mings and Hause have been crucial to the recent upturn in form, and Villa supporters will be hoping that the pair can extend their stay beyond the end of the season.

The duo will be key to their late charge for a top six finish.
