Sunderland moved up to fifth in the League One table with a 2-0 win over Swindon Town at the County Ground on Saturday.

The Black Cats took the lead after 37 minutes when Charlie Wyke fired home from close-range, in what was his fourth goal of this year's campaign.

Chris Maguire then doubled that lead from the spot, and Sunderland held on to take an important three points against the Robins.

Sunderland remain unbeaten as well, having now won three out of their five league matches in the third-tier.

Phil Parkinson's side will be eager to mount a serious challenge for promotion into the Championship this term, after a frustrating league campaign last term under his management.

The Sunderland boss will be hoping that he can rely on the goals from Wyke this term, with the forward struggling for consistency in his performances in front of goal last season.

Plenty of the Stadium of Light faithful took to social media to issue their thoughts on Wyke's performance in the win over Swindon Town.
