Kirk starts: The predicted Charlton Athletic XI to face Crewe

Published

on

Charlton Athletic take on Crewe Alexandra this weekend in Sky Bet League One, as they look to get to winning ways for the first time this season in the third tier.

The Addicks have had a slow start to proceedings with three losses and a draw from their opening four games and they’ll be eager to record a victory sooner rather than later.

The Railwaymen visit The Valley this weekend, then, and this is the XI we could see Nigel Adkins name to try and get the Addicks’ first win on the board in the league:

Elliot Lee has arrived on loan and could well come straight into the side, being asked to burst forward from in behind Jayden Stockley to try and knit up midfield and attack.

Last weekend against Wigan there was a disconnect between the middle and attacking thirds and that starved the two widemen and Jayden Stockley of the ball, meaning they were ineffective in front of goal.

Certainly, that needs to change and Lee could help that along, whilst the rest of the side has a familiar enough look to it as the Addicks look to add further to their squad in the final days of the market.
