Queens Park Rangers fell to a late defeat on Tuesday evening having to play the final 11 minutes with ten men.

Luke Freeman was forced off through injury after Steve McClaren had made all three substitutes with 84 minutes on the clock.

The Hoops were riding a wave of constant pressure from West Bromwich Albion and did so for the final six minutes of normal time, plus the five added on at the end of the game.

Freeman had levelled the match in the first half after Jefferson Montero had given the away side an early lead.

The score was level when the 26-year-old departed the field, with Jake Livermore scoring a 94th-minute winner for the Baggies after the pressure finally told with a man less on the pitch.

Had Freeman stayed on, the game may have finished level, but with a man advantage, West Brom took advantage of the misfortune of QPR.

There was plenty of talk among the Hoops supporters after the midfielder was forced off with no substitute replacing him.

Here’s what some of them said on social media after his forced withdrawal.
