Wolves have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season and lead the way in the SkyBet Championship but defender Conor Coady insists there’s more to come from the table toppers.

Victory against Leeds on Wednesday made it seven wins in eight and created a four-point cushion for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men in the process. And, the fixture list looks kind for Wolves too, who face three of the current bottom four in their upcoming games, starting with Bolton this afternoon.

Santo’s men have produced some scintillating football at times this season and have quickly become the team to beat. However, Coady warned the rest of the league that Wolves are striving to do more.

We can’t sit and rest on what has been done, this is only a platform of what we want to do – we want to keep moving forward. Things are going well at the minute and we just need to keep going,” he told the Express & Star.

We are taking it a game at a time and we just need to keep performing, keep playing well. We are improving, getting better, and it is about improving with every single game.”

The Verdict

The fans will be glad to hear that Coady still expects more from his teammates as it shows they are not getting complacent or ahead of themselves.

Of course, Wolves have been brilliant at times, but there are still areas they can improve and Santo is sure to be telling them how to do that.

If Wolves do manage to find another gear it will be bad news for the rest of the league as they look hard enough to catch at the minute.
