Wolves striker Leo Bonatini has praised the support the team are receiving from the fans after another sell-out following roared the team on to a sixth successive win at Birmingham on Monday.

Unsurprisingly, supporters have regularly packed out Molineux and away tickets are very hard to come by after the fantastic start made by Nuno Espirito Santo’s men. And, speaking to the official site, top-scorer Bonatini revealed how he appreciates their efforts.

The fans are with us all the time. When we play away, we feel like we are playing at home – all of the time they come to support us. We try and play well to give them happiness to come here and enjoy the game.”

The Brazilian notched his twelfth goal of the season in the derby win at St. Andrew’s and it created a ten point cushion for Wolves over third place. Despite that, Bonatini insists the players won’t be getting complacent.

We need to keep working, we still have a long time to go and there are still many games in the league. We are together, we are a family here and we are chasing our target.”

The Verdict

Wolves fans have suffered an awful lot over the years, so it’s no surprise to see they are delighted with the way the team are playing at the minute.

Full credit to everyone connected with the club for the way they have improved the relationship with the fans after it was at rock-bottom following back-to-back relegations under the previous regime.

Now, as Bonatini states, they are back in big numbers and that’s not going to change given the way Santo has the side playing.
