Wolves moved to the top of the league following an impressive win at Norwich in the week and defender Conor Coady believes the players need to maintain those levels throughout the season.

The Black Country club take on Fulham tomorrow and will look to extend their lead at the top ahead of the weekend fixtures.

Nuno Espirito Santo's men bounced back superbly from a shock defeat at QPR by producing an assured performance at Carrow Road. Goals from Willy Boly and Leo Bonatini were key, but in truth the margin of victory could've been greater. Speaking to the Express & Star, Coady heaped the praise on his teammates.

The boys were outstanding. It's the standard we've set so we need to keep it now. We've got a really good team spirit and the boys who've come in have settled really well. The big thing is I don't think you can lose two games on the spin. It's something we emphasise quite a lot.”

The ex-Liverpool player has been a revelation since moving to central defence from his natural midfield role as Wolves eye promotion, but he's just taking it one game at a time. “It's about Fulham now, we're not thinking about anyone else.”

The Verdict

Wolves fans will be pleased at the little insight Coady has given into the dressing room and the mentality of the players.

They were terrific at Norwich on Tuesday, which was needed after the loss to QPR. It demonstrates the character of the team that they can bounce back so well.

Now, as the defender says, it's about consistently showing that for the upcoming games. Fulham are struggling but they still have a quality squad and will provide a stern test for Wolves.
