Daniel Bachmann is hopeful that Watford can move a step closer to promotion with a victory over Norwich City this evening.

The Hornets are firmly in control as they seek an immediate return to the Premier League after suffering relegation last time out.

Daniel Farke's side have already secured promotion to the top flight while Watford aren't far behind with six points separating them from the play-off places at present.

Travelling to Carrow Road is bound to be a big test of the club's promotion credentials, but according to the Watford goalkeeper, there's a real feeling of confidence in the Xisco Munoz's camp.

Speaking to Watford's official website, Bachmann said: "It doesn’t matter at this stage of the season who we play against.

"Every game is tough now, regardless of the league position of the opponent. We know that we need to focus on ourselves. They’re already promoted and we hope to follow them as soon as possible.

“Our record over the last couple of years against Norwich is pretty good and there’s no reason why that should change. They’re a good team but we are too and we’re going there to beat them.

“It’s going to be a completely different game to Saturday. It’ll be a footballing game, so it’ll be good to watch and we need to make sure we’re at it from the first second. We’ve got to go for it and make sure we get the three points.”

The verdict

This is a massive game for Watford.

The club have enjoyed a wonderful second half of the season and are now in a really strong position to secure promotion.

Victory at Carrow Road would see them move one step closer to a Premier League return and so there's no doubt that the club will be ready for this one.
