Aston Villa could be set to change the market they look at in terms of signing new players, with the club set to turn to former Burnley manager Stan Ternant to scout out potential signings for the club.

According to Alan Nixon, Villa are set to turn to Ternant in an attempt to attract new players but in a cheaper market, with this summer being a struggle for the club due to financial constraints and the need to sell key players.

Ternant was in a similar role for Huddersfield some years back, but the main crux of the report from Nixon highlights the fact that Villa are now shopping in a completely different market to that they have been used to in the past few windows, with cheap players and bargain buys the order of the day.

Bruce and Ternant are long term friends and the former Man United defender will be hoping his old buddy can indeed be a bit of a wildcard in terms of attracting and identifying new talent.

Ternant was last employed by Hull City in a scouting capacity, and Bruce will be hoping to use Ternant's years of experience and knowledge to identifty players in the lower leagues who can do a job for the Villa.
