Sheffield United co-owner Kevin McCabe has reiterated his desire to sell the club if he wins his upcoming court case against Prince Abdullah.

The two owners of the firms owning the newly-promoted Blades have been in a dispute for almost a year now and a court case will make things a lot clearer about the future of the club in the coming weeks.

However, McCabe made it clear to BBC Sheffield's Football Heaven show that he still wants to sell and revealed that talks have been underway to do just that if the judge rules in his favour.

"Kevin McCabe on @footballheaven. Confirms talks with other parties re a sale, should he win court case. Adding: "A sale would have gone through more quickly had they been in the Championship," journalist Andy Giddings tweeted.

And, further comments from the businessman suggested a decision could be made in the coming weeks.

"The judge will be conscious of Football and Football seasons."

The Yorkshire side are celebrating promotion to the Premier League with Chris Wilder's men enjoying a civic reception in the city tonight.

The Verdict

It will be very interesting to see how this plays out and it could be a crucial period in the club's history.

Firstly, you have to say that any off-the-field issues haven't distracted Wilder and the players, so they deserve full credit for that because it's often mentioned as an excuse.

But, it clearly needs sorting to allow them to build ahead of their return to the top-flight.
