QPR have today confirmed that Amit Bhatia is their new chairman after changes were made at the top of the club.

It has been a tough few years for the club after relegation from the Premier League, with QPR encountering serious FFP issues that have impacted them massively.

However, those issues are solved now and former chairman Tony Fernandes, along with co-chairman Ruben Gnanalingam, felt it was the right time to step down.

Now, Bhatia, who was the vice-chariman, will step up to take the main role as he is based in London and will oversee the running of the club along with chief executive Lee Hoos.

And, he took to Twitter to send a positive message to the fans:

The team have endured a very tough start to the Championship season, losing their opening two games, although they did progress in the Carabao Cup after beating Peterborough last night.

The Verdict

This seems like a sensible move from QPR, as Fernandes has a lot of other business activities and perhaps feels as though he can't fulfil the role he currently has.

Therefore, Bhatia will step up and will oversee things from London and it can only be beneficial to the club.

He is clearly looking forward to taking up the role and will hope it can lead to a bright future for QPR after what has been a tough spell for the club.
