Alex Neil has urged his side to be confident on Tuesday evening against Leeds United, despite Preston North End suffering from a disappointing losing streak.
The Lilywhites currently sit 11thin the Sky Bet Championship table, but six points adrift of the top-six, after three consecutive defeats since the international break.
Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Reading have all picked up three points against Neilâs side, who are now facing an uphill battle to secure play-off football.
Leeds head to Deepdale tomorrow evening, with Neil urging his side to be confident ahead of the contest, as things can change quickly in football.
He told Prestonâs official media:
Whilst Preston find themselves in a difficult place, the same can be said for Leeds, who have just two victories to their name in 2018 and have slipped to a disappointing mid-table finish.
Leeds sit in 13thand head to Deepdale without a victory on the road since Boxing Dayâs triumph over Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium.
The Verdict
It has been a tough couple of weeks for Preston, who will be frustrated that they havenât kept the pace with the Championshipâs top-six in recent weeks.
Ultimately, this is the business end of the season and Prestonâs squad has probably come up short. However, there is no reason why they canât return to winning ways against an unpredictable Leeds side.
Leeds arenât in great form and are vulnerable defensively, which could give Preston the perfect opportunity to bounce back.
