John Ruddy prepares to face his former club Norwich City tonight with Wolves looking to go 14 points clear at the top of the Championship.

Despite dropping points in a fiercely contested match at Deepdale against Preston on Saturday, Nuno Santo's side are still 11 points ahead of second placed Cardiff City, who travel to Ipswich tonight.

Things have looked good for a long time at Molineux but Ruddy is an intense critic and called on his team mates to improve in one key area to make sure the promotion that has looked on the cards for months now becomes a reality.

He has warned the front players at Santo's disposal to become more clinical in front of goal. He told the Express and Star: "I think coming into this stage of the season we have to start being more ruthless in front of goal.

"The defence has been rock solid pretty much all season but you can't keep relying on that at this stage. We have to make sure we're giving ourselves a cushion to really build from.

The Verdict

Given the quality of football that Wolves play, it may seem bizarre to criticise the attack but Ruddy's professionalism will prove to be a vital asset in the run-in as it will help avoid complacency.

Leo Bonatini's goalless streak has rumbled on and on and Benik Afobe needs his first goal since his return to the club to get him off and running. Getting both those droughts finished would be a real boost.
