Nottingham Forest loanee Kieran Dowell has refused to rule out staying at the club next season, following an interview with the Nottingham Post after his starring role for England under-21s.

The 20-year-old delivered an excellent performance for Aidy Boothroyd's men as they saw off Romania over the weekend, and the Everton youngster is keen to keep playing first team football, meaning he could well be open to a return to Forest in the summer.

"It’s been unbelievable. You see loans happen and they don’t quite work, your face doesn’t fit or whatever, so I’ve been delighted it’s been a good move for all parties." said Dowell.

Dowell though is hoping to be part of the set up at Everton if possible, and did touch on the fact that if he is in Everton's plans it may well mean he stays and stakes a claim for his spot in the Toffees line up for next year under Sam Allardyce.

However, if he isn't he has made no secret of his desire to make a move back to Forest and keep playing regularly, something which will surely please both Forest fans and Aitor Karanka alike.

Reds fans, what have you made of Dowell this season? Been impressed? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
