Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has admitted that the team needs strengthening all over the pitch and revealed that experienced players will be targeted.

The former Rennes chief is just settling into life in his new job as he prepares for his first taste of English football and the Championship next month.

But, Lamouchi has made it clear that he expects to be competing for promotion and he told Nottinghamshire Live that the current group needs new additions to do that.

Honestly we need players in every line. If you want to achieve our target, we need to be not just comfortable, but to have enough players to achieve what we want. I would like to see more players come in. We need to refresh the group; to have more experience.”

As well as that, the 47-year-old stressed the importance of finalising the deals as soon as possible.

Of course it is important to get the players in quickly, because we do not have time to lose. I hope to see new arrivals soon, because we are working towards that.”

Forest’s season begins on August 3 when they host West Brom.

The Verdict

This is a clear message from Lamouchi that he wants, and expects, new players in at the City Ground in the coming weeks.

And, that’s understandable. Even though he is working with a big squad, he has obviously identified areas they need to strengthen and wants signings that will suit his style of play.

Now, it’s down to the recruitment team to deliver and these comments suggest something may be in the pipeline.

So, it will be interesting to see what happens as it could be a very busy few weeks or so in the east Midlands.
