Harry Darling had a strong season with MK Dons last year and was a regular part of the side as he made 41 league appearances.
Not only that, but from centre-back the 22-year-old was also able to contribute ten goals in all competitions during the campaign.
The Dons were unlucky not to gain promotion last season but the youngster has earned himself a move to the league above as he secured a move to Swansea City, a destination he has been linked to since last summer.
Unsurprisingly, the defender gained interest from other teams this season but it was his desire to make the move to Wales that helped this one get over the line.
Speaking about the transfer, Sporting Director of the Dons Liam Sweeting told the club’s Official Media: “Harry has made a terrific contribution since arriving from Cambridge United and it was unsurprising that he attracted attention from a higher level.
“Given he was entering the final year of his contract, we anticipated serious interest this window. Swansea City was the destination that Harry wanted and eventually they met our valuation for the player, with a deal that protects us in the short and longer term.
“On behalf of the Chairman, Liam and everyone at the club, I would like to thank Harry for his contribution with us since arriving at Stadium MK and wish him all the best in the future.”
Quiz: Are these 20 Swansea City transfer facts true or false?
Russell Martin has had to wait to get his man but he will have been pleased to get him in at Swansea this summer, and it seems as though the player himself is very eager to be at the club which will be a positive for Swans fans.
Darling has shown plenty of talent and potential to grow further so this is an exciting signing for the Welsh side as they look towards pushing up the table next season.
It seems as though the club and the player are equally as optimistic about this transfer, which should set them up to succeed with one another.
