Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye will leave the club this summer, according to his agent.

The Stoke Sentinel reports that Ndiaye's agent William D'Avfilla told the Turkish media that his client is likely to leave Stoke after the World Cup.

Avfilla confirmed that the Senegal international, who is set to star for his country this summer, has received interest from Besiktas or Fenerbahce as well as attracting attention from Spain.

The 27-year-old impressed for the Potters after joining from Galatasaray in the January transfer window but he could not stop Paul Lambert's team from suffering relegation to the Championship.

Avfilla said: “Badou likes challenges. He has a right to leave Stoke City to play on a bigger platform like the Champions League.

“It’s not cool for me to say specific things about his transfer at this stage but I can say things will become much more clear after the World Cup.

“I can confirm that he will leave Stoke City. There has been contact from Spain. Turkey is an option for us as well. He could go the Besiktas or Fenerbahce or any other club. It’s all down to negotiations with Stoke City.”

Now under the guidance of Gary Rowett, Ndiaye is expected to be one of a number of stars to leave the bet365 Stadium this summer.

The Verdict

After standing out in a poor Stoke midfield last season, Ndiaye is bound to have interest this summer.

The World Cup will also act as a shop window for the dominant midfield man, who will be aiming to impress clubs from across Europe.

Stoke just need to ensure they recoup the transfer fee they paid for him and wisely reinvest that money into players who can strengthen their squad and help them win promotion.
