Massimo Luongo has been back training at QPR after a spell away.
The Australian midfielder didn’t play in the last few games of the season due to wanting to avoid an injury which would rule him out of the World Cup. He is likely to be a starter for the Socceroos and QPR had little to play for because they were safe from relegation so it was a smart personal decision which had Ian Holloway’s blessing.
There were worries from the fans that it might be the last they had seen him because he has been linked with a summer move away due to his impressive form this season. He scored six goals and provided three assists in 39 league appearances from a deep midfield position.
The R’s announced his return to their training ground through their Twitter account as can be seen below:

This shouldn’t be taken out of context because he is only preparing for the World Cup and using QPR’s facilities to do that before he gets called to join the national team.
He is still probably going to leave in the summer because Villa are heavily interested and he would strengthen a key area for them. A good World Cup for him will just increase his chances of leaving.
