Leeds United owner, Andrea Radrizzani, has taken to his personal Twitter account to deliver a message following the clubâs alarming defeat against Sheffield Wednesday. Â
Radrizzani watched on as Leeds suffered their third defeat in three Sky Bet Championship fixtures at Hillsborough, losing 3-0 in Sundayâs Yorkshire Derby.
A goalscoring brace from Gary Hooper put Wednesday in full control in the first-half, before Kieran Leeâs late strike put the Owls out of sight.
Leeds have now slipped from the top of the Championship table to fifth over the last four fixtures, having recorded just one victory in that time and conceded a worrying nine goals.
Radrizzani has now moved to issue a calming message in the wake of the clubâs latest setback, claiming that Thomas Christiansenâs side will recover and come back stronger, his Tweet read: âWe werenât champions last week and we havenât lost anything yet today. The team will work harder to come back and play as they know.â
After an encouraging start to the season, the Whites remain in a good position heading into the international break, with only Cardiff City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sheffield United and Bristol City so far bettering their tally of 20 points from the opening 11 fixtures.
A number of Christiansenâs squad are now away on international duty, but the remainder of them will be preparing for when Leeds return to Championship action on October 14th, when Reading visit Elland Road.
The Verdict
Radrizzaniâs message is a positive in a worrying time for Leeds, who have really lost their way in the Championship recently.
There does not appear to be too much panic coming out of Elland Road, and the international break has come at a good time, with Christiansen and his squad given a welcome break from a hectic Championship schedule.
Leeds were not Champions last week, and as Radrizzani says, they are not out of anything yet, with Christiansenâs side still able to look back on a successful first two months.
