Reading boss Mark Bowen has revealed that Pele and Jordan Obita are back in his thoughts for the trip to face Leeds United on Saturday.

The duo missed last weekend's victory over Sheffield Wednesday having picked up knocks in the defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

It wasn't expected that either would be back for the tough trip to Elland Road but the Royals will be buoyed by the pair's availability.

Leeds will provide a tough test for Bowen's side as the Whites sit second in the Championship table and are well set to achieve promotion with just 13 games left of the season.

Ahead of the game, the Royals boss provided an update on the fitness of both men.

Speaking to Berkshire Live, Bowen said: "Pele trained lightly yesterday and looks as though he’s come through. Obita too. They are both back in my thoughts for the game."

The Verdict

It's a massive boost for the team heading into what is a big clash in the Championship. Reading will be the latest side aiming to spoil Leeds' promotion party.

Pele has been influential for the Royals this season, putting in a number of quality displays under Bowen, and will surely be included from the start if he is fit enough.

Obita is unlikely to start the fixture, however, due to the impressive performance that left-back Omar Richards put in at Hillsborough last weekend.

It's set to be an intriguing fixture and it will be interesting to see how the Royals look to counteract Leeds' impressive displays.
