Grant McCann has admitted 'you never know' what could happen in the January transfer window.

The Hull City boss was discussing the club's hopes of completing any business this month when he admitted that he'd ideally like the window to shut at the earliest opportunity.

While still looking for potential additions, the Tigers have had to deal with plenty of speculation regarding the futures of Jarrod Bowen and Kamil Grosicki who have attracted plenty of interest this month.

But while McCann says that he expects the pair to stay, he says he can't wait for the month to be over.

Quoted by Hull Live, McCann said: “You just never know what’s going to happen in January.

"I wish it was shut to be honest. It’s annoying to be constantly getting asked about players coming or going. It’s more of a burden on us this window.

“Ideally we’d just get it shut but you can’t say never. You don’t know what’s around the corner.

"Whether one of your players leaves and you have to replace. Not Bowen or (Kamil) Grosicki, or anyone like that, but it may happen. We’ve got to be prepared for that."

The verdict

It was always going to be a nervy month for Hull City.

With players such as Jarrod Bowen and Kamil Grosicki it was likely that they would be a huge talking point in January, but so far the club have done well to hold on.

Grant McCann will be hoping and praying that the club can get to February with both players still at the club.
