It was certainly a busy summer transfer window for Bristol City, who made a number of signings to strengthen their squad as they target promotion to the Premier League.
But after a poor start to their league campaign, supporters might be wanting to see more depth added to their squad as soon as possible.
In an interview ahead of their game with QPR (quotes sourced from Bristol Live), Bristol City's first-team coach, Jamie McAllister admitted that the club could be tempted to dip into the free agent market to add to their squad in the near future.
"That market's there and there are a few players who have been paid up and are available.
"We're always looking to strengthen. We're always looking to improve - but the squad we've got at the moment we're very happy with and happy to go to January and beyond with the squad we've got."
"As I say, it's about working with the lads we've got on the training pitch now to make sure that everybody understands their roles and responsibilities so when they go and play they know what's required."
It's set to be a tricky game for Lee Johnson's side as they take on a QPR side who are unbeaten so far this season after a win over Stoke and a draw to Huddersfield Town.
So, the Robins boss will be hoping to pick up their first win of the season, although it'll be a tough ask against Mark Warburton's side who will be full of confidence heading into this one.
The Verdict:
They need strength in depth.
I still think that they could be up their challenging for promotion into the Premier League, but they need to find some consistency in their performances.
Lee Johnson is a fantastic manager, and it'll be interesting to see who he looks to bring into his squad ahead of the 2019/20 season.
