Dr Tony Xia has taken to his personal Twitter account to deliver a message to Aston Villa’s supporters, with the club’s owner insistent he has helped the Villans turn a corner.

Xia has been at Villa Park for almost two years now, helping to stabilise the club and help them back on the rise, albeit in the Sky Bet Championship rather than the Premier League.

The Villa owner has responded to a fan praising the position the club find themselves in, issuing a message of confidence, insisting he feels that Villa have turned a corner under his ownership.

Xia’s message read:

Villa are currently halfway through their second season in the Championship, with Steve Bruce the man in-charge and tasked with delivering a top-flight return by Xia.

Bruce’s side currently sit fifth in the Championship table, after an impressive run of results either side of New Year in the league fired Villa back into the play-off zone.

Villa will be looking to return to winning ways on Saturday, after a disappointing FA Cup exit last weekend, when they face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, which presents Bruce’s side with a chance to strengthen their grip on a play-off place.

The Verdict

It is hard to argue with Xia, who has done well at Villa Park since his arrival.

Xia has certainly steadied the ship at Villa Park, and this year, under Bruce’s management, things are looking up for the club.

Victory this weekend over Forest will but Villa in a strong position in the race for promotion.
