Panos Pavlakis has taken to his personal Twitter account to thank Birmingham City and wish the club good luck in the future, after he resigned from the club’s board of directors earlier today.

Pavlakis has been at St Andrew’s for three-and-a-half years and has helped to stabilise the club, maintaining the Blues’ Sky Bet Championship status in the process.

Following his departure, Pavlakis took to Twitter to deliver a message of thanks to the Blues, which read: “That’s it guys! 3.5 years with proper “Joys & Sorrows” on a proper Club! Thank you ALL for your patience! Good luck & God bless!”

During his time at St Andrew’s Birmingham survived a relegation battle on two occasions, most recently last season, where Harry Redknapp guided the Blues to safety after a disastrous second-half of the campaign.

However, Pavlakis is likely to be remembered for the role he played in the appointment of Gianfranco Zola and sacking of Gary Rowett, which resulted in Birmingham freefalling in the Championship last season and requiring Redknapp’s help to survive.

Birmingham fans… How do you feel about Pavlakis’ departure? Let us know your thoughts!
