Doncaster Rovers manager Darren Moore has admitted that he hopes to bolster his Doncaster Rovers squad in January which he admits is lacking depth.

Rovers currently sit 13th in the League One table and have so far endured a rather inconsistent first half to the season, winning six, drawing six and losing four matches so far this term.

Moore's side are currently on a three game win-less streak in the league having not won since the 7-1 thrashing of Southend United back in October.

Discussing the upcoming January window, Moore told the Doncaster Free Press that he hopes to bring in at least one or two more faces to the Keepmoat Stadium.

"Hopefully we can get one or two bodies in to help us out a bit more. Hopefully the aim will be to try to add, I’d like to bring one or two in because I think we need some help."

Acknowledging his side must remain focused before January, Moore said: "It looks like we’re going into the Christmas period with the squad that we’ve got but we’ll meet it head on, right now January seems like a million miles away because there are so many games coming up before then and so many things to focus on."

Adam Henshall began working for Rovers as the talent identification manager and Moore has told the Doncaster Free Press that it is a great move by the football club.

"It’s great by the football club that we’ve managed to get Adam Henshall in to do some work," Moore said, "It’s good for me then as a manager to then try to focus more on the team."

Doncaster travel to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday hoping to claim a first league win since October.

The Verdict

It is clear Moore has identified what Doncaster need to do in the window early on, but is determined to not let his focus be deterred from the playing side of things.

If Rovers can find some consistency on the pitch, there is not reason for them not to make a push for the League One play-offs in the second half of the season, and one or two new faces could help them do just that.

The club have gone down the route of appointing a talent identification manager and it will be interesting to see if this pays off for the club over January and how Adam Henshall works with Darren Moore.
