Key details of Aston Villa man’s return revealed

on

Aston Villa will welcome back Axel Tuanzebe following next week’s international break, with the on loan Manchester United man set to hand Dean Smith a significant boost for the run-in.

Tuanzebe’s last appearance in claret and blue came in the 2-2 draw with Stoke City in mid-December, with the 21-year-old forced to miss a significant period of as season he started so well.

However, an update from Villa’s official media has confirmed that his return is on the horizon, with Smith looking to welcome the defender back when they take on Blackburn Rovers at Villa Park on March 30.

That, of course, means that Tuanzebe will miss this weekend and the visit of Middlesbrough, as Smith’s side look to make it four wins on the trot.

Villa have beaten Derby County, Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest over the course of March so far, which has sparked their play-off push.

Victory over Middlesbrough would be another step in the right direction, with Tony Pulis’ side faltering in their own quest to secure play-off football.

The Teessiders have lost their last two, both on home turf.

The Verdict

This will be a welcome, welcome boost for Smith following the international break.

Tuanzebe was in great form pre-injury and will return looking to make a good impression during the final eight games of the season.

He is likely to slot into a centre-back partnership with Tyrone Mings, which is an exciting prospect for Villa, who will hope their season is extended by a play-off campaign.
