Derby County are feeling the pressure as the January transfer window moves into the final week.

The Rams endured an awful start to the Championship season and found themselves sitting in the relegation zone until the weeks gone by.

However an upturn in form under Wayne Rooney has seen Derby pull away from the drop zone as they look to move themselves up the table.

Signing new players was seen as a top priority this month however uncertainty over the proposed takeover deal seems to have stopped that from becoming reality.

Part of the issue is that the first team players have still not been paid for the month of December - something that Rooney believes has to be resolved before any new players are targeted.

Can you name each of these 17 ex-Derby County players just by looking at these 3 clues?

Asked if he's confident about new deals, Rooney told Derbyshire Live: "Yes, but as I said you never know in football.

"I can do my job and have people ready, but in this game anything can happen. Agents speak to other clubs, that's understandable.

"Where we are at the minute, I am confident we can get players in fairly quickly. The first thing, obviously, is the lads getting paid."

The Verdict

Derby County could certainly do with some new signings, but of course the takeover deal has to take priority.

The Rams are looking decent under Wayne Rooney but of course the arrival of a couple of players would help them as they look to move up the table.

Whether that'll happen, however, remains to be seen.
