Ryan Sessegnon grabbed yet another goal at the weekend, his 13th of the season, opening the scoring as Fulham saw off table-toppers Wolves 2-0 at Craven Cottage.

The teenage starlet has long since attracted admiring glances from big-hitters at home and abroad but for the time being, he is a crucial part of Fulham's promotion push.

The interest will no doubt reignite in the summer but Cottagers manager Slavisa Jokanovic has publicly urged Sessegnon to remain at the club past the end of the season, for the sake of his development.

He told TalkSPORT: "Many people are talking about him, he is growing up as a player and as a person too.I believe at this moment he can grow playing here, rather than with a top five Premier League team.

"I think we can give him what he needs and I’m proud and I’m happy that he is here with us.

"I enjoy working with him a lot. He has a great capacity to learn, he trains well and his physicality is fantastic, it’s like he comes from a factory. He’s fighting with strong adult players.

"At his age it is not easy but he’s doing a fantastic job."

The Verdict

Sessegnon's development has no doubt been accelerated by his early exposure to first-team football at such an early age and that's something he probably wouldn't have got in the Premier League.

Jokanovic is right to say that he probably still wouldn't get that at the very top of the top flight, especially in his new position as a winger, where the competition is so stiff at the top clubs.

At left back he might get in, but I see his future on the wing so maybe Jokanovic has a point - although he might be a Premier League manager come May anyway.
