Tahnoon Nimer has a 'two-year plan' for Charlton Athletic.

His excellency oversaw East Street Investment's takeover of Charlton Athletic at the start of the year, and fans have since been jubilant in singing his praises.

Matt Southall has been installed as the club's new chairman with Nimer taking a backseat role, but looking to provide the much-needed funding to see Charlton into the Premier League.

And he's looking to do that in the near future, in the next two years. Posting a recent interview on his Instagram with TeamTalk, Nimer discussed his 'two-year plan' for the London club, saying:

"We are looking forward with our team, with our coaches, with our funds, to develop Charlton to be in the Premier League very soon, within two years actually, we have our vision, we have our master-plan."

Sitting only a couple of places above the drop zone, Charlton have a lot of work to do before they're pushing for promotion.

But Nimer sounds optimistic about his new club's future, and even went on to discuss the Manchester City example, and how it is one 'to be studied' as he aims to do the same with Charlton.

The verdict

We expected Charlton to spend big last month but instead, they had a relatively subdued transfer window. The rebuilding phase is a long one and maybe Nimer is overly ambitious in his pursuit of Premier League football in only two years.

Nevertheless, Charlton fans have an owner who's not lacking in optimism and faith, and they have a very exciting future ahead of them.
