Bolton owner Ken Anderson has sent a long message to supporters on the official site, where he importantly revealed he hopes a takeover goes through this week.
Talks have been ongoing for a while now as several buyers look to finalise a deal for the Championship club.
However, for whatever reason it hasn’t gone through – much to the frustration of Anderson and also the fans who are desperate for him to move on.
But, progress has clearly been made following Anderson’s comments today.
“Hopefully, the takeover will be completed later this week and the new owners will be in place and will be given the time and opportunity to take the club forward.”
As well as that, Anderson took time to praise manager Phil Parkinson and the playing squad, whilst he also outlined how difficult it had been to keep the club going in the second-tier.
The players were finally given their wages for February earlier today after they were forced to release a statement criticising the owner after he broke a promise on when they’d be paid.
The Trotters are back in action against Sheffield Wednesday this evening.
Anyone who has read the message from Anderson will get the feeling that the takeover is all but done and that’s good news for everyone.
Bolton have been a toxic club for a while now and they need a change at the top.
Fans will hope it can be announced later this week and the focus can then be completely on trying to survive this season.
