Blackburn midfielder, Bradley Dack has been linked with a move to Aston Villa according to a recent report from The Sun.

With 15 goals and seven assists to his name in last year's league campaign, it's clear to see why Dack is a player in demand heading into the transfer window.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports (quotes sourced from Lancashire Live), Blackburn boss, Tony Mowbray insisted that he is confident that Dack will remain a Blackburn player heading into next season.

"I'm very confident he won't move on this summer.

"He's had his first season in the Championship and he's scored 15 goals. Everybody knew he could do it in League One and he was fantastic for us in League One."

"He loves the club."

Mowbray went on to admit that he expects further interest in Dack next season if he finds the form he had shown in this year's campaign, and wouldn't stand in his way if Blackburn's valuation of the 25-year-old was matched.

"I believe that he should show that he can do it again and if he scores 20 odds goals again next season then I think some seriously big clubs will be looking at him.

"As I've always said to him, we're not here to stop his career moving forward, I want all of my players to play in the top-flight, and if the top-flight come along and they're reasonable with the numbers then we won't stand in his way."

The Verdict:

This is a promising update for Blackburn supporters.

There will have been a serious chance of Dack departing Ewood Park over the summer, but Mowbray's comments will put fans at ease for the time being.

He's a player that has set the Championship alight and I firmly believe that he is destined for a move to the Premier League in the next couple of years.
