Birmingham City will be looking to make some waves this summer in the transfer window in order to improve on a tough couple of years.

That, of course, was largely the thought process this time last year with Harry Redknapp looking to build things up from a narrow relegation escape but we all know what followed.

Garry Monk, then, is the man this summer tasked with trying to get them up the right end of the league and with Pep Clotet alongside the two will be aiming to replicate what they did at Leeds in many ways.

It looks as though their coaching staff is to grow, too, with Paul Robinson joining the team after hanging up his boots as a player.

And that decision is something that has got Clotet's approval with him delivering this verdict on Twitter in response to the news:

The Verdict

This is certainly a good move for both Robinson and the Blues.

He's got a wealth of experience from his playing days and will be able to relay that to all the players he now coaches.

Birmingham look to have a good set-up with Clotet and Monk and this appointment should add to that.
