Aston Villa rounded out their home campaign for the season with a 1-1 draw at home to Derby County, and now Steve Bruce will be fully focussed on cementing his team’s place in the Premier League with a playoff victory.
It’s been a decent enough season for the Villans, who will be disappointed to miss out on the top two but will remain confident of playoff success with the team in good form over the last couple of months.
The Premier League really is the place for Villa to be, and one man who has a whole host of top flight games under his belt for the club is forward Gabby Agbonlahor, who is due to move on at the end of this campaign to seek a new challenge.
Agbonlahor has been with the club for over a decade, and clearly has had a big influence on things at Villa Park, none more so than on some it’s young players, including star man Jack Grealish, who took to Twitter to sing the praises of his ‘idol’ yesterday.
My idol growing up.. it has been a pleasure to train, play and learn of you brother! A legend in my eyes and I’m sure in every other villa fans eyes. Thanks for the good times bro❤️⚽️ @ga11official pic.twitter.com/Yyann4aswE

It was a touching message and nice gesture from Grealish, who has sometimes been portrayed as something of a pantomime villain among away supporters.
Grealish will be hoping to keep his form up and fire his side to the Premier League over the coming weeks.
Villa fans, what did you make of Grealish’s message? Good of him? Let us know your thoughts on both players!
