There will have been some sore heads around Aston today as Villa got themselves promoted against Derby County in the play-off final yesterday afternoon.

The Villans were good value for their win against the Rams in truth and it is good to see them heading back to the Premier League too.

They'll be looking for another long stint in the top flight now, as well, and it looks as though those in charge of the club have every intention to make that happen.

Speaking to Talksport - via Villa Report - the Villans' Wes Edens revealed that he hopes to make Villa one of the best clubs in the world:

Ambitious and exciting, but certainly possible with the size of the club involved.

It won't be an overnight achievement but Wolves have shown you can adapt to the Premier League quickly and it's not as if we're talking about one of the small fries of English football.

Villa are a real institution of the game in this country, and it is going to be fun to watch them go about re-establish themselves among the biggest sides in England once again.

With the right management, we might not see them in the EFL for a long time to come.
